What you are thinking about while you are exercising can make or break the effectiveness of your workout.  I will teach you what you need to be focusing on to get the results you want.


The #1 variable for Type 1 Diabetics to control with their exercise is the intensity of their workouts.  The Fit4T1D program will teach you how to exercise at the proper intensity for more stable blood glucose levels.


My biomechanically-based approach to exercise helps ensure the exercises you do are appropriate for your joints. This promotes the health & longevity of your joints, allowing you to continue being active for years to come.

#1 - Intensity

How intense is your workout? Both low-intensity and high-intensity can cause blood glucose swings if the intensity is not appropriately monitored.

#2 - Insulin (Relative to Blood Glucose)

How much insulin do you have on board before you start exercising?  Are you going to be receiving insulin while you are exercising?  

#3 - Food  (Relative to Blood Glucose)

When was the last time you ate?  When are you planning on eating again?  Will you be eating during your workout?  What about exercising while fasted?

#4 - Time Of Day

Are you exercising in the morning?  Middle of the day?  In the evening?  What considerations do you need take with your blood glucose levels for each?

Hi, I'm Charlie, and I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes back in 1996. Since then, I have been experiencing how exercise and different ways of working out affect my blood glucose levels.

From playing four years of college basketball, biking through the entire state of Wisconsin, hiking the Grand Canyon, and training as a powerlifter, I have experienced many different forms of exercise. And through it all I have noticed some consistent trends with how certain ways of exercising affect blood glucose levels.

As a Type 1 Diabetic, I was told early on that exercising was something I needed to do. However, I was never given any guidelines as to HOW to exercise, and this is what makes all the difference.

After graduating with a master's degree in exercise science back in 2016, I started applying what I had learned in the classroom to what I was doing with myself and my clients in the gym. By applying very specific exercise principles and controlling for certain variables, exercise has become something that has stabilized my blood glucose levels instead of sending them on a roller coaster ride.

I have taken this work and put it together in the Fit4T1D program - the first exercise program that is built from the ground up to help Type 1 Diabetics exercise in a safer, more sustainable manner.

There are many challenges that can arise when trying to exercise with Type 1 Diabetes.  If I am unable to help you overcome these challenges and find a way for you to exercise that is safe, effective, and sustainable for you by the end of your 12-week program, you may request a full refund.  All I will need to see is that you were 100% compliant with your workouts and our calls, and you will get 100% of your money back.  


How will you teach me what exercises to do?

You will have a customized Fit4T1D exercise program shared with you via Google Drive.  In this online program is where you will see what you need to do for your exercises.  Each exercise in your program will have an instructional video linked to it that you will be able to watch and learn how to do the exercise properly.

Is there a payment plan option or do I have to pay in full upfront?

You will have 2 payment options - pay in full upfront to receive the Fit4T1D program at a discounted rate, or pay weekly for the 12 week duration of the Fit4T1D program.  Whatever works for you works for me :-)

How many days per week is the program?

You will have 2 options for frequency - 2 days per week or 3 days per week.  Which will work better for you?  You decide and I will create it for you.

As far as length of time of each workout, you can expect that each workout will last anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on where in the program you are.

What happens at the end of 12 weeks?

After you complete your 12-week program, you will have 2 options - 1) Keep going on your own doing the same workouts you just did for the past 12 weeks; or 2) We start with a new assessment to find out what changes have occured with your body over the past 12 weeks and create a new Fit4T1D program for you accordingly.
